Where students reach for the STARS!

WELCOME TO THE 4th GRADE!!!!

I couldn't be more excited to begin a new school year here at Winter Park! I'm looking forward to making many wonderful memories with the students in the coming year!

As one of the newer members of the Winter Park team, I'd like to share a little bit about myself.

My career began in 1998, after graduating from UNC-W with a degree in Spanish with licensure to teach k-12. My first 2 years started in Brunswick County teaching k-5 and 6-8th grade Spanish. I then added my k-6 Elementary teaching license and began working in NHCS as a teacher assistant in a 2nd grade classroom, followed by a year of 4th-5th grade support teaching. My path then led me to a wonderful 4-year experience at Gregory School of Math, Science, and Mathematics as a 4th grade teacher where I found my true passion- WRITING!

In 2006, my husband and I (and our 16 month old who was a frequent visitor of the pediatrician's office!) made the decision that I should stay at home, tutor privately, and raise a healthier toddler. Our son's baby sister arrived about 13 months later, which extended my stay at home.

The time came when I was more than ready to be back in the classroom, and I found myself here, at Winter Park Elementary, last November, among the most outstanding group of educators and students! I have all hopes of becoming a life long member of this wonderful establishment and continuing my path right here for years to come!

My Class Mission:

All students will enter into a classroom community where they feel safe, respected, and emotionally nurtured. Expectations are high, and students feel the desire to reach their greatest potential. Students are making real-life connections with each and every experience in the classroom, while gaining confidence in their learning capabilities. All students will exit the classroom as life-long learners who are prepared for success in a global society.

If at any time there are questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me by phone, email, or written note, and I'll be sure to respond ASAP! Together Everyone Achieves More!
