PARSLEY > Mrs. Cannon > About Me

I grew up on a farm in Duplin County, just outside of Mt.
Olive, NC. Living and working on the farm and having some
other quite interesting jobs left me with lots of fun stories, but
after high school graduation in 1989, I came to Wilmington
as a freshman at UNCW. I graduated with a Bachelor's
Degree in Elementary Education in 1993. Over my 11 years
in the classroom, I have taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. In
2004, I achieved National Board certification. This is my
seventh year at Parsley, and I love working here! I'm looking
forward to working with the Parsley students and families for
another great year!

My husband, Harvey, and I have been married for 13 years
and we have two children. Our son, Cole, is a sixth grader at
Myrtle Grove and our daughter, Kelle, is a second grader
here at Parsley. They keep me busy and having fun all the
time. When I'm not at work I enjoy reading, running, going to
the beach, and watching Cole and Kelle’s many activities.
