About The Teacher

This is my 15th year teaching in New Hanover County School system and my 9th
year teaching kindergarten. My assistant this year is Leann Heath and she is very
excited about working in kindergarten. This is Mrs. Heath's 3rd year at Parsley,
and her 1st year in kindergarten. She graduated from UNCW and is married to her
husband, Glenn and has 2 children. Jake is in the 2nd grade at Murray Elementary
and Kylie, her daughter is 2 1/2. Mrs. Heath is a great asset to our classroom
and loves working with children.
I'm originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia where I lived with my mom,
dad, and two older brothers. I am a graduate of Kempsville High School,
attended Old Dominion University and transferred to UNCW where I received my
teaching degree.

I am married to a wonderful husband, Jeff, who is a charter fisherman and is
the owner and operator of Seahawk Inshore Fishing Charters. So, I guess you
can say that my family loves to fish. Our son, Christian, is currently in
the 10th grade at Ashley High School. He plays baseball and basketball and of
course, he fishes. I have a dog named Bailey and 2 cats named Tiger and
Blue. Tiger is a black and white cat and Blue is a white cat with blue
eyes.
My favorite food is chocolate chip cookie dough and I love fruit and
vegetables. Aside from teaching, I enjoy walking, watching my son play
sports, fishing, reading, going to the beach, and cheering for UNC
Tarheels. My passion, besides teaching, is interior design. I also enjoy
listening to music and am a member of Port City Community Church.
