Dear Parents:

It is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to working with your child in Math 7 this school year.  As we work together, I’m sure your child will accomplish much as old concepts are reinforced and  new concepts are taught.

Homework provides practice for the concept being covered and it gives insight into particular problems being encountered with a particular concept. It cannot and  must  not be ignored.  Also, I require that  work be shown in order to receive full credit. If  the  work is  not  being  shown, the  student will receive  reduced  credit.

If your child is absent from class for any reason, they are responsible for finding out what things they’ve missed and getting them made up promptly. Checking the homework section of this  page is  one means  of  doing  finding  out  missed  assignments. Periodically, time will be designated for showing me the made up work during the class period. In most cases quizzes can be made up during the lunch period.  I generally do not allow make up tests during the school day.  Tests are  made up after school.

The supplies your child will need for my class on a daily basis are a spiral composition notebook (one used only for math) and several pencils. A hand  held pencil sharpner and loose leaf paper are  also convenient  items  to have, but  are not  required.  I will supply anything else needed such as: compasses, protractors, and rulers as they are needed.

I am available for after school help, but will not accept students on a drop-in basis.  I need to know at least a day in advance that your child wants to stay for help so that I can insure that you are aware and approve of their staying. Also, I want  to make sure I have no conflicting duties or meetings.

At M.C.S. Noble, we communicate a student’s progress at the midpoint of the grading period with progress reports as well as the end of the grading period by use of report cards.  If you need a more frequent update or to just check in as to how your child is doing, call me at 350-2112- ext ___.  Please leave a message and I will get back in touch as soon as possible. On my Teacher  page, there is  also a link to my  e-mail.
