This week IBEC students are studying various physical properties and how to use these properties to identify substances in the laboratory.  We completed a density lab this week where we determined the density of liquid water, copper, aluminum, and nickel; as well as, using the density formula to determine if a certain unknown rock sample was indeed limestone based or not.  In-class practice has been positive and metric conversions have been infused within our density discussions.  Your students are doing excellent work!!

Friday I will be out of school so we will not have lab at UNCW.  Lab will resume next Friday assuming hurricane Earl doesn't blow Dobo Hall away.  We will hope for the best.

Please continue to check the calendar section of my webpage to accurately keep up with all we are doing in class and my expectation of your student outside of class.

Till next time.............
