Holly Shelter > Robert Harrell

Hello, my name is Robert Harrell and welcome to Holly Shelter Middle School.  I am very happy to be one of the wonderful assistant principals here at Holly Shelter Middle School. I am also happy that the parents, administration, and community have the opportunity to work with one of the best group of teachers and students in New Hanover County.

I have really been enjoying my time as an administrator with such a wonderful group of teachers, students, and parents. I feel more at ease with the job at hand for this school year knowing that the staff here is so cohesive and supportive of one another.  There are many new things for the parents to be aware of this school year.  The major change that will be starting this year is the move of North Carolina to the Common Core Standards.  The New Hanover County School's website will have updates and information regarding this move to the Common Core as well as the Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) website.  Please check the links on my page as well as the updates on the Holly Shelter main page to stay current with all school information.

I am coming to Holly Shelter from Trask Middle School, where I worked for 15 years as a teacher assistant and a special education teacher.  I have been involved in coaching sports, student council, school improvement team, afterschool performances and activities, and many other school programs.  I hope to get this kind of involvement from the teachers and parents here at Holly Shelter Middle School.

If during the year you are interested in helping out or need to get in contact with me, please feel free to call me at 602-4046  ext. 243 or you can email me at robert.harrell@nhcs.net
