The Wave, 103.1
Check out our radio shows! How do we create these exciting, communicative shows? Each show is a podcast. A podcast is a series of audio or video digital media files which are distributed over the internet. Our students use a program called, "Audacity," to record their audio files. Students record original writings, book reports, multiplication tables and informative information about projects. Many of these are included in our weekly shows as well as interviews, music and important school and community news. Students may listen to podcasts to extend lessons, to collaborate for group projects, to study from home, and for entertainment! Students convert the recorded audio files into an MP3 format and then add in copyright safe music clips. They use Windows Movie Maker (yep, that's right) to put the show in order. We then connect a low watt FM transmitter to the computer they are using and play the show every Friday afternoon from 2:00-3:30. For those folks that may not be within 200 yards of our building during that time, we upload each show to this page for your listening pleasure!
