Welcome to Mrs. Pascarosa's web page!
End of Grade Testing will be, May 21-22nd, and the children are anxious. As testing approaches please help your child stay focused and on –track. We will spend time reviewing important strategies and EOG samples so that the children are prepared. Remember to please help to ensure that your child does not become overly stressed during this time. As we practice we will talk about trying our best and I will remind the children that this is the only thing we ask of them. If they have put forth their best effort we will be happy and proud! Also, if your child is anxious and nervous, talk with them and tell him/her that the feeling is normal and ok! Remind your child that he/she has been in fourth grade for almost 8 months of school and that is A LOT of time for learning!
EOG Tips for Parents –
Help your child be even MORE successful!
1- Allow for your child to get a good night’s sleep. Eight hours is recommended for proper brain functioning and we definitely want that!
2- Have a healthy breakfast to jumpstart your child’s day. A child’s brain is larger than an adult’s in proportion to his or her body, and it is growing and changing rapidly, which increases its energy demands. During our week of intense testing, a breakfast is even more important for focus and clear thinking!
3- Arrive to school on time! Prevent stress on your child by getting to school in plenty of time to relax before the tests begin.
4- Remind your child that he or she is prepared! We have worked incredibly hard this year and we ARE ready for these tests!
5- Praise your child and his or her accomplishments! Keep reminding him or her about all the things they have accomplished! Focus on the positive!
6- Do something special for your child to show him or her how proud you are that your child did his or her best!
