Welcome to Ms. Alleborn's Second Grade Class

In our classroom our learning is going to be focused on center based instruction. By teaching in this manner I am better able to meet students’ individual needs and academic abilities. By teaching in centers I am also able to give more one-on-one attention to the students as I either travel from group to group or have a small group of my own.

I like to try and incorporate technology into my lessons and am ever thankful for the Smart Board that was donated to our classroom last year.

I am a student as well. I attend graduate classes at UNCW in their Language and Literacy program. I bring what I am learning in class into our classroom to keep things new and fresh as best I can. The students also have expressed their excitement in knowing that I, like them, am a student, have homework, and have to go to class!

We have a snack everyday at
9:45. Please send in healthy snacks with your children. No soda or candy.

I have some extra snacks for students that forget or are unable to bring in a snack of their own.  Donations for class snack are always greatly appreciated.  Please remember, NO PEANUTS.  Thank you.

If you are able to donate some prizes for our "Good Behavior Prize Drawer" that would be great!! Ideas might be pens, pencils, erasers, items from the Dollar store...  Thank you.
