 Welcome to WORLD HISTORY!!

Hello! My name is Mrs. Hall and I will be your teacher this semester.  I have my Bachelor of Arts in History and I have completed the requirements for a teaching certificate form the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.  I am extremely excited about teaching you this semester.

 Expectations:

It should go without saying that all of you are at a point in your lives where YOU are held responsible for your actions.  In saying that, I want you to respect yourself, respect everyone in the class, and respect me.  This class will require you to discuss different (and sometimes difficult) issues.  You will need to respect one another in order to have a pleasurable environment.  You will be responsible for taking notes and completing various assignments both during class and at home.  I also expect you to be honest!  I will work hard to help you as much as I possibly can throughout the semester.  Please talk to me if you have a problem.

Procedures:

Starting class: You should be in your seat working on the assigned “bell work” when the bell rings.  You will be considered tardy if you are in your seat.

Bathroom Passes: Each student has three passes for each quarter.  Try to go on the way to class if possible-do not ask for a pass on your way in the door or the first five minutes of class.

Late Work: Late work will not be accepted for full credit.  Each day an assignment is late 20% of the possible grade will be deducted.  For example:  Notes are worth 10 points, each day late, subtract two points.

Each day a project is late 25 points will be deducted from the final grade.  For example, one day late you will earn no more than a 75%.

Snacks: Food is NOT permitted in the school building.  You may have a drink in class with you as long as it has a cap and you are not sharing with classmates.
