World History Teacher

 

 

I was born in Charlotte.  I grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina.  I am one of eleven children.  I attended East Carolina University and graduated in 1994, with a degree in History and English.  I worked in middle school for 5 years than went to her old high school and taught US History, Civics, and World Cultures for 2 years.  I obtained her National Boards in History in 1999.  In 2002, I received my Masters in Administration.  Then I moved to Wilmington in 2002.  Since the move I worked at Trask Middle School teaching Language Arts.  I love being back at the high school level.  I have been at Laney for 5 years.

 

I have been married for eight years to Jeremy Furr.  She also has three children Tyler who is 10 and Caitlyn 8 both attend Eaton Elementary.  She has a daughter named Caroline.  She is 3 years old.  I also have a golden retriever that I loves very much that she has had for 8 months.  I enjoy playing tennis and swimming.  Mainly, I just likes hanging out with her family and friends.
