Welcome Students and Parents!

My name is Sarah Isaac and I am ecstatic to be a school counselor at Laney HS!  My responsibilities include (but aren't limited to):

  • Students with last names E-K
  • Foreign exchange students
  • SST representative
  • Facilitator for College Application Week
  • Co-Coordinator for Advanced Placement Courses
  • Co-Coordinator for Senior College Planning Night (Oct 17th)
  • Co-Coordinator for Senior Financial Aid Night (in February)

A little about me.......

I am a "military brat" so the word, "hometown" has never been in my vocabulary. My family was relocated quite often but by far my favorite "home" was in Stuttgart,Germany where I graduated from an American high school specifically for Dependents of the Military. I was then accepted to UNC-W in 2002 and studied Special Education. After graduating in 2006, I taught students with special needs for three years in New Hanover County. In 2009 I chose to continue my education at NC-State (Go PACK!) and got my Master's Degree in May of 2011 in School Counseling.

I am thankful to call the coast my home and look forward to getting to know you this year! The picture above is after a discovery flight with my dad on Christmas Eve. He is a pilot in his free time; so when I am visiting my parents in Orlando, FL we'll take a short flight to Ocala and have breakfast at our favorite cafe'.
